Verksbyen is a new sustainable district in Fredrikstad, Norway, with over 1 500 houses and apartments. The ambition is to create Norway’s most innovative and future proof residential area, and a main goal has been to achieve a holistic development with respect to climate and energy use.
The residential units are built after Future Livind standard. The project is also filled with innovative solutions, low energy buildings, local energy production, distribution and storage of energy, peak shaving and climate friendly construction based on wood-materials.
All of the housing units are “Smart houses” and produces their own energy with solar cells. One of the country’s most beautiful parks will be located in the middle of the development area.
Equipped with Systemair SAVE residential systems
To ensure optimal indoor environment, low energy use, health and wellbeing, all houses are equipped with balanced residential ventilation systems from Systemair. The project was delivered as complete BIM-designed ventilation package solutions, including ductwork and diffusors, optimizes for each individual house.
Different sizes and models of SAVE residential air handling units was delivered, according to residential type and size. Every unit has high efficiency rotary heat exchangers and SAVE Touch controls for, minimized energy use and high comfort.
