What is a Filter?

Filters are an essential component of ventilation systems. Filters are specially designed devices designed to remove airborne particles and pollutants that can be harmful to people's health and the environment from the air that passes through the ventilation system. This results in cleaner and healthier air and thus a better indoor climate.

The main functions of filters are:

  • To capture particles such as dust, pollen, mould, fur, textile fibres and other small particles that can circulate in the air. This contributes to improved air quality and creates a more comfortable indoor climate.

  • To protect ventilation equipment, including fans and heat exchangers, by preventing particles from entering and damaging components.

Different types of ventilation filters

Systemair's portfolio includes a wide range of filters, each with their own specific features and filtration properties, to suit every need - regardless of the type of ventilation system and application area.

Among others, our portfolio includes filters tailored for SAVE and Topvex units, specially designed to filter particles for enhanced air quality and a healthier indoor climate.

Whether you're looking for bag filters, panel filters or compact filters, Systemair has a wide range of high-quality ventilation filters to suit your needs.

Check the overview below for our range of filters suitable for specific air handling units.

Bag Filters

Systemair has a wide range of bag filters available that are suitable for different types of air handling units, such as VR bag filters, SAVE bag filters and bag filters for Topvex units.

Bag filters are used especially for units where powerful filtration and a high filtration capacity are required. The bag filters provide improved indoor air quality and effectively filter dust, pollen and other particles from the air.

Pleat Filters

Systemair has an extensive portfolio of pleat filters with long lifespan available, including our VX pleat filter, with a washable aluminium filter, specially designed for VX units, and our SAVE pleat filter, designed with folded pockets for increased, cost-effective and reliable filtration.

How to choose the right ventilation filter?

The choice of filter often depends on the specific needs. When choosing the right filter for your ventilation system, the first thing to consider is what kind of system you have and what type of filtration you need.

It's essential to limit the amount of particles in the air; therefore, it's important to use the correct filter for your ventilation system and home.

Consider what particles you want to remove from the air. Is it primarily dust, pollen, bacteria or odours? Identifying your needs is important when choosing a filter with the right properties.

A healthier indoor climate with frequent filter changes

Frequent filter changes ensure that it is always in optimal condition and can effectively remove dust, pollen, bacteria and other particles from the air. This contributes to improved air quality and creates a healthier indoor environment.

Filters that are clogged or dirty create strain on the ventilation system, causing ventilation to deteriorate and energy consumption to increase. We recommend frequent filter changes, preferably 1-2 times a year, to avoid this and ensure a healthier indoor climate and optimal airflow.
