Furkan’s story: there’s always more to learn

Life at Systemair

When Furkan Keseratar joined Systemair Turkey in December 2018, he came with a clear ambition: to learn. He wanted to understand the HVAC industry, the products and how the business worked.

But along the way, Furkan discovered that some of the most important lessons in sales have much less to do with products than he once thought.

“Successful sales is not just about product knowledge or offering the right technical solution. It is also about understanding the people behind each project, building trust with customers and decision-makers, and developing relationships that last beyond a single transaction.”

Learning what really matters in Sales

Today, Furkan is a Sales Executive at Systemair Turkey, working with customers, contractors and subcontractors on investments and construction projects. Air handling units are his main focus, but his view of his job has become much wider.

With experience, he has learned to step back and look at the whole picture: the people involved, what the customer needs, how everyone can work together and where he can add value.

“I joined Systemair wanting to learn the business; today, I focus on creating value, building trust and helping turn opportunities into successful projects.”

Furkan has become more confident in his role, but that doesn’t mean he feels he has all the answers. He believes there is always more to learn.

Seeing the whole picture

One project in particular helped Furkan put that broader way of thinking into practice: BMW’s electric vehicle production facilities in Hungary.

Furkan had followed and developed the opportunity for a long time. Systemair Turkey eventually supplied air handling units and other equipment for several buildings, with Furkan involved throughout the process.

Of course, there was satisfaction in seeing something he had worked on become a Systemair project. But what stayed with him was also what the experience taught him.

Following a large and complex investment from beginning to end helped Furkan see how all the different stages fit together. It pushed him to look beyond his own part of the work and understand the process as a whole.

It also showed him what it takes to bring different people together around the same goal.

“Success is not just about offering the right product; it is also about managing the process effectively, understanding the customer’s needs, and adding value throughout the entire project lifecycle.”

It is a broader way of looking at sales – and one Furkan has developed project by project, conversation by conversation.

Systemair has been like a school for me.

A school without a final lesson

“Systemair has been like a school for me.”

For Furkan, that learning goes well beyond major projects. He says he has learned from people across different departments and from experienced colleagues both in Turkey and internationally. That openness to sharing knowledge is an important part of what Systemair means to him.

“Systemair is a global company, but you never feel that distance when you need to reach out to someone in another country or department. People are generally open to sharing their knowledge and helping each other.”

It’s why the idea of Systemair as a school has stayed with him. The lessons have changed as his career has developed, from learning the technical side of HVAC to understanding relationships, trust, collaboration and the wider business, but Furkan does not see that development as something that will end.

After nearly eight years at Systemair, Furkan knows much more about the business than when he started. But one thing hasn’t changed: he still believes there is always more to learn.
