As standard, all fire dampers are designed and certified to comply with EI-S performance attributes. PK-I fire dampers are intended to be embedded into fire partition walls. Installation of these units is described in the Installation, Operation and Maintenance manual for square and circular fire dampers PP-28_PKIR_PKIS_EKI_PKI2-EX_EN_201403.pdf. As standard, all dampers can be supplied with a manual actuator, optional accessories, e.g. microswitches, electromagnets, or a servo-driven actuator and communication control units. Detailed description regarding individual models can be found in TPI-28_PKIR_PKIS_EN_201403.pdf.
Servomotor-driven Fire Dampers
Fire damper closes the damper blade on demand of the Building Management System or based on a supply voltage interruption in the thermoelectric fuse. Servomotor fitted fire dampers are standardly equipped with an electrothermal fuse which, when having reached or exceeded the ambient temperature of 72°C with a tolerance of ±2°C, activates the servo and closes the damper blade within 20 seconds. According to hnEN 15650 each fire damper must have thermofuse.
Modulated Servomotor-driven Fire Dampers
The servomotor is controlled with a standard signal of DC 0 ... 10 V and moves the damper to the operating position while tensioning the return spring at the same time. The damper is turned back to the safety position by spring energy when the supply voltage is interrupted.
Fire damper casings are made of galvanized steel sheets and the blades are made of calcium silicate boards (asbetstos free).
