Systemair Belgium partnered with Theo Boons to deliver seamless heating and cooling solutions to the Campus@Noorderkempen.
Campus@Noorderkempen, Belgium
Easily adaptable units designed to fit seamlessly within varied ceiling layouts and room configurations.
Simple system design and unit configuration enabled a fast, efficient installation process.
Coordinated logistics and responsive support ensured units were delivered according to the schedule, enabling the client to keep the commissioning timeline.
Uniform air distribution ensures stable temperatures and improved indoor climate quality throughout the building.
Located in Hoogstraten, Belgium, the Campus@Noorderkempen office complex forms part of the De Kluis industrial estate. The development comprises two office buildings and a parking garage, with a centrally positioned wadi between the buildings, enhancing both the site layout and its environmental integration. Parallel architecten was the architectural design office responsible for the development, while ALTEZ, served as the main contractor.

The heating and cooling installation was carried out by Theo Boons, a leading family-owned company based in Arendonk, specialising in HVAC and sanitary systems across residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
Founded in the early 1990s, the company has grown into an organisation of more than 200 professionals, recognised for its engineering precision and fully integrated project approach, from design through to maintenance.
The partnership between Theo Boons and Systemair dates back to 2018, beginning with the Jette – St.-Michielscollege project. Since then, Systemair has become a trusted and preferred supplier for the company, consistently supporting a wide range of projects with reliable solutions and technical expertise.
For the Campus@Noorderkempen project, the primary objective was to implement an efficient solution for both heating and cooling, while ensuring ease of installation and high indoor comfort.
Early in the design phase, fan coil units were selected due to their suitability for the project’s performance requirements. Within this category, cassette-type units were preferred for their ability to:
Integrate easily into ceiling spaces
Enable quick and straightforward installation
Deliver well-balanced airflow across occupied areas
These characteristics made cassette fan coil units the optimal choice to meet the project’s expectations for efficiency, comfort, and practical execution.

Once the system design was finalised, lead time became the defining constraint. The installation schedule required an accelerated delivery to ensure all units could be installed within the project deadline.
Through close coordination with the customer, Systemair successfully met the stringent delivery timelines, ensuring that installation progressed without disruption and the overall schedule remained intact.

Systemair Belgium supplied Serena K cassette fan coil units designed to provide efficient heating and cooling, uniform air distribution, and discreet operation.
The units were optimised for a 2-pipe system, enabling a simplified installation with minimal piping requirements. Combined with 6-way valves installed by the customer, the system enables simultaneous heating and cooling across multiple rooms, while maintaining an efficient and streamlined configuration.
The project successfully achieved a balance of performance, efficiency, and execution speed, meeting both technical requirements and installation deadlines. The result is a modern office environment with a stable and comfortable indoor climate, supported by a system designed for long-term operational efficiency and reliability.
We chose to work with Systemair because of their efficient way of working and the flexible, fast support provided by Yannick Van Laer. Their responsiveness and professionalism make them a reliable partner for our needs.
