The renovated department store Hudson’s Bay in Haarlem, The Netherlands, has a total of 8 floors. Every floor was equipped with two air handling units each, dating back to 1978. These air handling units were renovated one by one during the summer of 2018.
The cooling and heating batteries were cleaned, new filter sections were installed, and all fans were renovated. This included replacing the fan bearings, V-belt drive, and the motor bearings.
The control technology was replaced with a new easier to use variant that allows controlling the indoor climate based on the CO2 levels per floor. The indoor air climate is now great thanks to the refurbished ventilation system.
