Air treatment for school wins sustainability award

The Brede School, located in Losser, The Netherlands, uses an Aquifier Thermal Energy Storage (ATES) system for heating/cooling the building, and ventilation with heat recovery from Systemair. This all contributed to the project winning the Twente Sustainability Award.

The air handling unit is equipped with a rotary heat exchanger that recovers heat and moisture, with an efficiency of 72%. Thanks to the heat exchanger, the temperature and humidity of the building remains constant.
