Demand controlled ventilation is a powerful instrument to influence many aspects of room climate quality like Presence, Temperature, Humidity, VOC (Volatile Organic Content), CO2 or particles content and others. For many years end customers could experience this quality and benefits in large installations, public buildings, offices, sports halls, hospitals, schools etc. Traditionally high room air quality was achieved through a constant high volume of air exchange. However, through an increase in energy costs and building regulations (EPBD) and Product design directives to reduce the energy usage (ERP) the demand-controlled ventilation has become more and more the new trend in the industry by using Variable air Volume systems.

Constant Air Volume (CAV) systems are tailored to a market segment where a specific ventilation/Conditions take priority over the energy. Certain segments in Healthcare or industry or Emergency ventilations are few examples to mention.

AIAS is a pre-programmed, easily configurable and operable control system for optimizing the energy consumption in demand-oriented building ventilation systems with Variable Airflow Volume (VAV) controllers. Also, other ventilation system parameters like system static pressure, noise in the duct, on the control and terminal ventilation elements face remarkable improvement by optimizing the functionality of AIAS.

What differentiates AIAS with standard and basic pressure controlled system is that it achieves the lowest system pressure by constantly monitoring the VAV damper position and setting it to open and adjusting the needed airflow flow, thus constantly attempting to reduce the system pressure.

By lowering system pressure we not only benefit from the lower energy costs, but also from the noise reduction from continues operation of the VAV damper attempting to control the airflow.
