Luzhniki Stadium (full name is Grand Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex) is the national stadium of Russia, located in Moscow. Its total seating capacity of 81,000 makes it the largest football stadium in Russia and one of the largest stadiums in Europe. Built in 1956, the Big Sports Arena in Luzhniki is the main stadium of the country. It is a complex of several buildings, including Main Arena, Small Arena, Swimming Center and others.
Luzhniki’s reconstruction began in 2014 as part of preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2018. One of the main aspects of the reconstruction project was to preserve the historical facade of the Main Arena, which has the great 60-year history. Luzhniki Stadium hosted both the opening ceremony of FIFA World Cup 2018 and the tournament final.
Systemair supplied air conditioning products, air handling units, air distribution products, fans, air curtains and radiant heaters to the Main Arena and Swimming pool of Luzhniki Olympic Complex.
