Air handling units for De Rotterdam with a capacity of 530 000 cubic meters of air per hour

In 2013, the construction of De Rotterdam, a building on the Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, was finished. This 149 meter tall building has 44 floors with a total floor space area of 162 000 m2. The design provides space for offices, apartments, and a hotel.

Systemair supplied 12 air handling units that can heat, cool, and humidify 530 000 m3 of air per hour, with the largest unit being able to move 100 000 m3 of air per hour on its own. Every unit is equipped with a rotary heat exchanger which saves a lot of energy, leading to more than a 70% reduction in heating and humidifying costs for the ‘most densely built part of The Netherlands’.
