Located in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan and widely regarded as one of the world’s most scenic capital cities, the Mövenpick Hotel at The Centaurus Mall forms part of the largest shopping and lifestyle destination in the city. The project required a high-performance basement car park ventilation system that met both local authority regulations and international hospitality standards, while accommodating strict site and timeline constraints.
The client for the project was Pak Gulf Construction (Pvt.) Ltd., with SIMODE Consulting (Private) Limited acting as the consultant and Seasonmaster Engineering (Pvt.) Ltd. appointed as the contractor. Seasonmaster Engineering was awarded the basement car park ventilation works on a turnkey basis and selected Welkin Solutions to supply Systemair fans and provide CFD analysis support.
Systemair is a well-known international brand recognised for its quality and reliability. Although other solutions were evaluated, Systemair’s strong reputation for quality in the market was the key reason Pak Gulf chose its products.

Designing within limits
The project involved detailed technical coordination to optimise performance within limited available space and meet strict compliance requirements. Through a series of structured coordination meetings, the client, consultant, and contractor worked closely together to align expectations and develop a solution that balanced performance, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency.
Reaching a final design was a collaborative and well-considered process, supported by detailed technical evaluations and data-driven decision-making. Welkin Solutions facilitated this process by providing comprehensive documentation, CFD simulations, and full alignment with applicable international standards, ensuring all requirements were met without compromise.
Additionally, the project timeline was highly demanding. Delays occurred due to transportation and customs clearance processes; however, through proactive planning and close coordination with all stakeholders, these challenges were successfully managed. The system was ultimately delivered, installed, and commissioned in accordance with the project requirements.

Delivering validated solutions delivered
The final installation comprised 12 AXC tube axial fans and 27 AJR jet fans. Systemair products were selected due to their proven quality, competitive pricing, reliable delivery timelines, and inclusion in the project’s approved manufacturer list. The combination of tube axial and jet fan solutions ensured effective airflow performance, operational safety, and long-term reliability.
The approved solution incorporated supply and exhaust tube axial fans alongside round jet fans. These were carefully positioned and validated through CFD analysis to ensure effective smoke control, pollutant extraction, and safe airflow distribution across the basement parking areas.
