Systemair’s AJR Series Is the First Axial Impulse Jet Fan to Earn AMCA’s Certification for Thrust, Air, and Sound for a Jet Fan

Reading time: 2 minutes

Systemair continues to lead the car park ventilation market with its recent certification of the AJR Series, which is the first and only Axial Impulse Jet Fan ever to be certified to AMCA International’s Jet Fan Certified Ratings Program (CRP, Rating Method H), which is tested to Standard 250 for both air/thrust performance and Standard 300 for sound performance.

The new certification, specific to the performance of jet fans, is a significant development for the engineering community because it verifies jet fan performance values. The AMCA certification provides third-party confirmation of the AJR Series’ thrust, sound, and airflow test data gathered in AMCA International’s laboratory.

The certification of the AJR Series, along with our new IV-50 EC High Induction Centrifugal Jet Fan, further solidifies our market position and brand recognition as the leader, while demonstrating Systemair’s commitment to the industry to continually bring exceptional, high-quality, certified performance-driven solutions to the marketplace.

More Reliable Prediction of Performance

Prior to AMCA International’s Jet Fan Certified Ratings Program, engineers had no way of reliably comparing or predicting the performance of a jet fan because test methodology varied between manufacturers, yielding data that is impossible to compare and often misleading. Testing in an AMCA-certified lab eliminates these variables and provides data that is accurate, reliable, and relevant to car park applications.

This brings a whole new confidence level to those specifying equipment for underground and enclosed parking garages because it means they know exactly what they are going to get when they specify a jet fan certified under this particular standard.

Systemair’s AJR Series Axial Impulse Jet Fans are available in two sizes for both 230V and 460V. The AJR Series delivers standout performance, with a significant throw distance of up to 126’ (38.4m) at a terminal velocity of 196 fpm (1m/s), while producing 51.5 Newtons of thrust. The 51.5 N of thrust produces an Induction Factor of 8.2, putting into motion an airflow many times greater than the rated CFM.

“The certification of the AJR Series ensures the combined performance measures of airflow, thrust, and throw to fully implement verified values for an Extraction Ventilation Strategy – creating an effective and energy-efficient solution for enclosed and underground car park applications,” said Gramke. “The AJR Series will be a valuable tool as we further guide and educate our business and engineering partners toward the best ventilation solutions.”
