A Hygienic AHU is an Air Handling Unit certified under Eurovent’s Hygienic Option. This certification requires compliance with clear, quantified criteria covering the unit’s design, construction, and hygienic operation.
Certified units undergo a two-stage validation process consisting of a desk study and on-site audits. The assessment covers more than 60 specific criteria defined in Appendix H of Eurovent’s AHU Certification Programme (ECP-05). These criteria go beyond standard performance metrics and help ensure compliance with relevant hygiene standards such as VDI 6022-1:2018.
