Systemair has supplied air handling units and ventilation components for the New University Hospital in Aarhus, which has expanded from 168 000 m2 to more than 400 000 m2. A total of 67 Danvent DV air handling units have been supplied, including 29 large DV100 and DV120.
When the construction is complete in 2019, the hospital will cover a ground area of 1 200 000 m2. This makes it one of the largest hospitals in Northern Europe.
9 000 employees will work at the New University Hospital to administer 1 300 beds, 100 000 annual admissions and 600 000 annual outpatient visits. The total cost of the expansion is DKK 6,7 billion.
This enormous construction project is divided into different sections. The technical level is always complex with projects of this magnitude, and the requirements for energy consumption for all the units are high. That was one of the reasons why Systemair was chosen as supplier, says Sales Director at Systemair, Bo Sterner.
