The Maersk Tower, Copenhagen

The Panum building in Copenhagen – part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen – has been expanded with the 15 floor tall Maersk Tower.

The tower will be a gathering point for the faculty’s research and education and will contribute to the effort to attract the world’s best researchers and students to Copenhagen.

For this project, Systemair has supplied 31 Danvent DV air handling units (sizes DV100, DV150 and DV190). They will handle a total air volume of 500 000 m3/h. In the selection phase, there were high requirements placed on the air handling units energy consumption, as the entire building must meet the Danish Building Regulations 2015. When the Maersk Tower is complete, it will be home to Denmark’s most energy efficient laboratories.

The architecture firm C.F. Møller have created the master plan and received first prize at an international architecture contest for it in 2010.

The construction of the new landmark for medical science was made possible through a co-operation with the Danish state and a large donation from the A.P. Møller Foundation. The owners are the University of Copenhagen and the Danish Building and Property Agency.
